Wander around Basildon Park
This Grade I listed country house definitely isn’t your average National Trust property – not so much because of its architecture or interiors, but instead on the basis of its survival against seemingly all odds. Lovingly restored in the mid-20th century by Lord and Lady Iliffe, the Palladian residence remains open to the public throughout the autumn, although we would urge you to check the National Trust website for exact opening times.
